Job Description
The Bar Manager oversees the staff and operations of a bar by making sure it’s clean, functioning efficiently and inviting for customers to relax in. Their main duties include scheduling employees and building their shift calendars, managing and resolving customer complaints and ensuring the bar’s inventory is well-stocked. Always willing to support the team which falls under his/hers responsibility and the clients.

Responsibilities:
- Managing the business aspects of the bar, such as keeping a current liquor license, negotiating supplier contracts, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goals.
- Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours.
- Setting and enforcing quality and safety controls.
- Working with diverse personalities both on the staff and patrons, influencing positively the people working around him/her.
- Planning and taking part in promotional events.
- Diffusing tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.
- Maintaining a fun, safe atmosphere for the clients as well as for the direct team.
- Oversee all operational and administrative aspects of the bar
- Motivate the team to deliver a seamless and efficient standard of first line service
- Enforce and monitor that all operational standards, SOP and quality measures are in place at all times
- Strive to meet target cost of sales and ensure that all employees are aware of the targets in the beverage department including the monthly sales targets
- Review and analyze sales to ensure stock rotation and profitability remains within targets
- Inventory and ordering procedures knowledge
- Work closely with the Head Sommelier to plan and execute wine and beverage promotions, proactively
- Setting and maintaining standards to ensure the guest experience is effective and hospitable
- Playing a key role in the training, development and retention of the team that direct reports to him/her
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good relationships
- Drive sales to maximize budgeted revenue
- Notify engineering of any maintenance and repair needs, proactively
- Perform other duties as requested by the line manager, being always flexible on supporting the team in periods of crisis
- Perform any other task, related to his/hers area of expertise and requested by the line manager
Mandatory Requirements:
- English Knowledge
- Turkish National
- University Degree or technical institution degree
- Working experience in similar role for minimum 2-5 years as a Bar Manager (preferably in 5* hotels, or high-end restaurant)
- Computer operating skills including MS Office/Excel
- Effective communication skills and pleasant personality, willing to support peers, the manager and the team of him/her
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Extra Requirements:
- Additional languages will be considered as a plus
- MSc degree will be considered as a plus
